Zavfino - ZV8-X - Canadian Built Turntable with multiple arm options
The Zavfino ZV8-X turntable was designed and engineered using proven engineering techniques to eliminate resonance and standing wave vibration.
Being able to utilise multiple arms allows you to have completely different cartridge set ups on the one turntable. For example, you may run a traditional style cartridge such as a MM or MC cartridge on one arm and then also run a second arm with an Optical cartridge, a mono cartridge or just a completely different sounding cartridge to allow a very different playback result.
Currently we are running on audition this amazing turntable with two arms, one is fitted with a very well known MC cartridge and the second arm is running a Japanese built optical cartridge. Being able to simultaneously play both cartridges and simply switch inputs allows for an incredible insight into the different styles and performance of the two cartridge options. The plinth’s unique cut-away shape; sharp curves and untraditional angles are all done in the name of vibration elimination. This paired with mixing other materials such as POM, brass, Teflon, and an acrylic platter effectively deadens the plinth so it doesn’t carry or amplify an unwanted vibration to the cartridge.
With the Zavfino ZV8-X the same philosophy goes to great lengths to eliminate vibrations. The first step is the solid billet aircraft-grade aluminum milled with a diamond-tipped milling blade with the result being a super fine grid-free finish that will pick up resonance. Secondly, the underside of the platter is contoured and machined on a gradient again to dissipate vibrations.
The platter is isolated and bearing from the plinth using a 15mm acrylic cuff which the bearing effectively sits on so it has no direct contact with the plinth. This combination of processes allows the use of the Zavfino ZV8-X with or without a rubber mat and gives them the option to use other options other than rubber with the aluminum platter.
The Zavfino ZV8-X comes standard with a combination of choices using the Zavfino Aeshna series aluminum and carbon tonearms and an optional adaptor for a second Zavfino Aeshna arm or can provide fittings for other premium tonearms and vintage arms up from 9.5-12 inches. It would be best to contact us for advice on individual set ups and cartridge recommendations.
The Zavfino ZV8-X also comes standard with a fully independent motor supply in a 2kg aluminum housing regulated by an AC regenerating circuit, which allows for a perfect AC current that can be slightly adjusted at 33.3 and 45rpm.
The starting price is inclusive of one arm only and does not include any cartridge but we are happy to work with what ever cartridge you may own or wish to use.
